Happy Birthday Peter

It stated in September

The dance floor, of all places…

You were movin, you were grovin,

And you weren’t making’ faces

“Love Story” was in the theatre

But we were busy making our own

Two hearts became like one

In Sea Isle under the sun

How I loved your family

The icing on the cake,

I fell hook, line and sinker

A DiLullo on the make!

Our wedding was quite humble

Often, less is more…

We were thrilled to be together,

It didn’t matter we were poor.

Suddenly we were pregnant

Childbirth classes ensured,

Along came sweet Melissa,

Peter and Becca joined us, too!

The busy year of family life

Were the focus of our days

Loving, laughing, growing

Sometimes we were quite crazed!

But you faithfully worked harder,

And did all you could at home,

You balanced it all, but always returned

Happy to no longer roam.

We’ve skied and fished and sun-bathed,

We’ve worshiped and endured,

Not a day goes by we’re not aware

Of the generosity of our Lord

And now He’s added more to our lives

With Nate and Lex and Rich,

The beauty of family multiplied

Not one of you we’d switch.

But wait, and now there’s grandchildren

God’s blessing for His name’s sake

His promises are for each generation,

Now there’s Luke, Jules, Sammy and Jake!

Two really do become like one,

Tho sometimes tempers flare

But You remain my hero

With a heart that’s beautiful and rare.

So I celebrate you and love you so,

If I should fall behind, wait for me

Come grow old along with me,

That’s how God planned it to be

Katie DiLullo

Peter,

Happy Happy 60th!!!.

We all realize you almost died…You unsuccessfully played this card for sympathy sake. Few realize you almost died many years ago, the last time we played golf. You were flanked by Lisa and a friend greenside, waiting patiently for me to chip out of a bunker to…. “GONE!.....WHERE DID PETER GO?” All I see is a Titleist Pro IV within 8 white knuckles clinging to the edge of a pond side bulkhead. You recovered, short of wet shoes. So we all almost die and we move on….Is this why we never golf together? Speaking of dying. I almost died as a result of your generosity. Once again a last time experience with you… The last time we went fishing. I wanted to die, but NO, you made me reel in the most flounder as I was content to deposit all of my internals overboard or in the head. Your namesake pulled me from the brink of death. Is this why we never fish together? We all almost die and we move on… We have more to accomplish. Fondly, Jer

Peter, our “framily” is a circle of love and strength. With every sunset, every game of corn hole, every birth, every union, the circle grows. Every joy shared adds more love and every obstacle makes the circle stronger. You are blessed by those here in your presence, family who have left you physically, and friends with you in spirit on this celebration. All of us, TJ and Peter included, have shared in your love, generosity and companionship. Peter, thank you. Keep doing what you are doing! Lots of love, Sue

Carpe Diem / Seize the day! (and try to chill when it comes to “time and schedules”!!)

Happy 60 wonderful years with many more to come with love from all in the Tarrant Family!!

Happy Birthday Peter!

You’ve come a long way baby! I’ve known you seems like forever, from the time you were working for the big Texan as a corporate controller and up through all the exciting years we’ve had building our company, it’s just amazing how 29 years can fly by so quickly. It’s been really a wonderful experience working with you and watching you guide LCOR through some very interesting waters and always adapting our structure to what works best for us in that given time. What’s always amazed me Peter is that you’ve managed to do all this while always keeping such a positive attitude, that has given all of us a consistent feeling that we can win on any given day. I know that it’s easy to get down when our projects take so long to mature into opportunities, and then into hopeful successes, but you’ve always found a way to help us make those happen; and it’s been such a pleasure to be on that team with you. Now that you are looking at 60 Peter, and winding some of your LCOR duties back a bit, I want you to share with me the secret of your perpetual youthful look and constant tan….I’ve figured out that that is part of your ability to inspire, because aside from your obvious command and example in the board room, you’ve had that eye of the tiger too. Well whatever the secret is, it’s served you and LCOR so damn well over all these years.

I know how much I’ve enjoyed working with you, but it’s really nothing compared to the way I know Eric feels about his good fortune to have had such a wonderful friend and partner in you. I can tell you that it has meant the world to him and it has been a great source of pride for me to see the both of you work as a successful team all these years. I know the story isn’t completely written yet and I’m looking forward to writing these next chapters with you.

Have a fantastic time celebrating your 60th and remember, 60 is the new 50!!

All the best Peter,

Kurt

Dear Peter,

Where do you start when you have a best friend your whole adult life? Well let’s start at the beginning 42 years ago at Bartley Hall on the campus of Villanova University. We met at a lunch table , me a balding blond and him a hippie with sandals , jeans and long hair, both day commuters ,little in common, him 100% Italian and me a combination of Irish and German but somehow we connected and that was the beginning of a lifelong friendship. The only note worthy events of our time at Nova was we both majored in Accounting ,took most of our classes together and I would still be there today in the Stat class if not for Peter getting me through and oh by the way we both mastered the art of Pinnacle and Poker.

After graduation and a few small events like jobs, marriages, kids and careers, our next memorable time is what I’ll call the Cape May years. After I had three kids and Peter two, we decided to vacation together in Cape May in a big Victorian house , this was the beginning of a life long love affair with Cape May that culminated with Peter and Lisa building one of the most beautiful homes in all of Cape May. I can’t begin to describe all the memories we have when we both bought our summer home at 905 Columbia with the tennis, endless beach days and our annual crab feasts, our families will never forget those memories.

We both have progressed with all the normal events of life, children getting married the eventual grandchildren and all the beautiful events that come with families, but the true sign of a friendship is when the stressful times come and who do you call, and we both had our share of those times and true to form we never strayed far from our circle of friendship. To this very day, I know that in my time of need that I only need to call and Peter would be there for me in anything I asked and that is truly a blessing only few ever share.

I could go on and list all his distinct and peculiar mannerism, but I’ll leave that for his family, but suffice to say outside of my immediate family there is not one person who has meant more to me in my life than Peter Paul DiLullo and for that I thank God, he has been and continues to be my best friend.

Happy 60th Birthday, I hope we have many more to share.

Your Friend Always,

Bob Billings

Dear Peter,

Long time friend and valued partner, time has its own impact on almost everything we do, whether we like it or not. Having just passed a time threshold myself, I realized that you are approaching your threshold, i.e. turning 60. So this might be the right moment to mention a few things about the times that have bound us as partners. These were good times as they were imbued with work, play and, best of all, family friendship.

Seemingly, just yesterday, Bob Walker told me the he had found our man. I asked why he was so sure and Bob responded that you could do the math, handle the accounting, and, most important, you were a runner and we could have fun together. All in all, a really good call. I remember us running 5 miles down Mt. Crested Butte into town and stopping in the Wooden Nickel for more than one “F.G.T. “. Finally, we staggered out of the Nickel for a ride up the mountain. Were we under the influence of high altitude or our own high time?

How many times did we take on the financial world to save our skins and the Company? Difficult issues, but fortunately, there was plenty of great to temper the worst moments, including the consummate sale of our interests in the JFK deal.

It has been quite a run Pete, just short of 30 years, and it is wonderful to see members of our families in the business. They, along with Tom, Bill and David, will be the future of our company. Let the times be good to them.

Peter, enjoy your birthday and the years ahead with health and grace. Susan and I send our love to you, Lisa, the children and grandchildren.

Live long, live well !

Fondly,

Eric & Susan

Happy 6Oth Birthday Peter

WOW. . .60. Deb and I as we were pulling our thoughts together, realized we met your family in 1981. Next year will be 30 years. (Iwill get to the family part later)

The most amazing thing I admire is you sharing your journey with me, from meeting the lord, to truly becoming a man of the lord. To see your faith grow over the years has been a true example to me of how a man should live his life and I have only experienced that with very few men throughout my life.

The most significant part of this, is when you found you were dealing with a life threatening, life changing medical event, you hugged me and just asked me to pray for you. This to me meant you had trust that I would in fact pray with you and for you. You already had the trust and faith that the outcome was in God’s hands, what a great place to be. You have also been an example to me as a father. Watching your kids grow, and seeing your love, dedication, interaction and support strengthen them and get them through some very tough times, taught me that I could do the same with my kids.

Now to the family stuff . . Your openness to share your Cape May homes over the years with our family has created memories that our family will never forget. Our kids always have something they remember about the many visits to the beach and the Cape May vacations.

Our families have shared graduations, weddings, funerals, births, birthdays and so many other things. We have been through many life changing events over the 30 year span and it is comforting to know that our friendship will always be there and will continue to strengthen over our remaining years. Enjoy your birthday and the rest of your life’s journey. God has truly blessed me and knew what he was doing 30 years ago.

Happy birthday my brother

Of the men I know, and I'm blessed to know quite a few, Peter is certainly one of the most generous, inspiring and talented! He mean's a great deal to me, as a friend, as an adviser, as a spiritual mentor and as a fellow golfer. Whether it's five minutes in the church hall catching up on family, faith, or the latest course selection, or five hours actually enjoying a round together, I ALWAYS come away super encouraged, really loved, and ready to be excellent at whatever I do next, as all those things are true of Peter. Not all men inspire like Peter! He has a rare blend of striving for excellence while motivating it in others. And he possesses so many other terrific traits that resemble Jesus, it is no exaggeration to say that you really get to know and love Christ more as your relationship with Peter grows. What a tremendous impact Peter had last fall too as a speaker at First Monday - even a year later, his story and testimony of trust in a time of crises still comes up in numerous conversations inspiring men to trust in the face of their own adversity.

One of the hardest verses for lots of folks to obey is 1 Cor. 11:1 where the Apostle Paul simply says "follow me as I follow Christ;" in my estimation, Peter is one of the few that can say this to himself or others with confidence! He lives this simple verse out with integrity, heart and authenticity!

I am grateful to you, my friend, in so many ways - my life is immensely richer for my relationship with you. Happy Birthday, enjoy the celebration and all the people like me, family and friends, that you have touched! Lots of love as a brother - Paul

Seth Landau

Peter:

It’s easy to understand why people gravitate towards you—of course, let’s eliminate the most obvious reason, that you are the boss and you can fire us! At the risk of giving you too big a head, let me take a shot at explaining: It is the combination of your generosity of spirit, self-awareness and charm that makes you a special person. These are not character traits that you develop overnight, this is who you are and it is an example to me and everyone else that knows you of striving to be the best person you can be.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, God smiled brightly on you and not only made you charismatic but also handsome. While I wanted to describe your looks as similar to Danny Devito, Nancy accurately claims I am jealous of you, and has more correctly described your looks as a young Al Pacino. Begrudgingly, I’ll go so far as to agree to a “poor man’s” Al Pacino.

What is particularly irksome to me is that you appear ageless; the one bright spot for us mortals is that if stand next to your bride, Lisa, her youthful appearance makes you look like a “Sugar Daddy”.

The Landau Family has forged a close relationship with you and your Family these last several years and we are personally and spiritually enriched because of it. We look forward to a lot more of what we have been doing (let’s not get into details so that our wives continue to believe we are working hard and late at the office rather than finding an excuse (any excuse!) to tee it up). It is also my hope that your golf skills will start deteriorating with your advancing years so that the “golden tee” will be mine, all mine!

Love,

THE LANDAU FAMILY

Hey Pete,

Happy 60th from Dave & Barb! I want to take you back a long way with our memories and experiences.

-1952 or so, we had our tonsils removed at Bryn Mawr

and roomed together with Aunt Ro watching over us.

-Watching Pete on live TV getting his trophy from Chief Halftown for winning the Chief’s bowling tourney.

-Avon Road

-Wiffle ball, football in the snow, and any game

Billy Rinaldi invented. All of the family at

Aunt Sade’s and Mary’s on Sunday. Football in the front yard, Bobby and Sammy Pierg running over each other.

-Coming to my house for breakfast and then staying for lunch, supper, and sometimes sleepover.

-Heading to Chestnotwold to play all day and night until it got dark. No adult supervision, nobody checking on us. The world was safe.

-4th & West, Ocean City August 24, 1969. Listening to

Beggars Banquet. Getting dark, deciding whether to drive back to Ardmore. The screen door slammed a voice says “I need to use the bathroom!” as she ran upstairs. Barb came back down and asked where Brian was, then I walked her to her place.

-Double dating. I walked Barb to her door. You came with us.

-You introduced Lisa to us at the Perkins where she worked. Then our weddings.

-I am in Texas. Barb is in labor. You rush her to Bryn Mawr in the early morning, running red lights. Then Jenn isn’t coming.

-I am flying back. Bad weather. Stuck in Atlanta for a couple hours.

-You and Tommy are already at the airport and decide to wait in the bar. I arrive. We go to the hospital to see Barb and Jenn who arrived that night. Did I drive? Went back to the house early morning hours. I cooked us bacon and eggs. You and Tommy drank some coffee.

-A moment later you and I are back at Bryn Mawr to see Barb and Dave, Lisa and Melissa. Then there was Laura, Peter III, and Rebecca.

-Now the grandkids. And joyfully watching our kids dealing with theirs.

These are just a few of many fond memories. I hope you can fill in the details and add your spin in sharing with all of your loved ones.

God has truly blessed us. One of my blessings is having you in my life from the beginning.

Love,

David

PD2 – I have only known you as a man in your fifties and as much as I am looking forward to knowing you in your 60s, 70s, 80s and so on and so forth, I wish I knew you in your 20s and 30s, could have been a blast…

Thoughts on Peter turning 60 with most of his parts intact:

First let me say I come at this as a biased Jewish New Yorker who always assumed that people like me ran the real estate business. Dress British, think Yiddish. So my first consistent contact with Peter during the JFK negotiations starting in 1996 came as a real surprise. Here’s this sharp dressing Italian guy from the Philly suburbs, and he’s got it down cold. He understands the motivations of his partners, lenders, etc. and knows how to craft a deal to suit everyone. He knows when to push his own agenda and when to work with the other guy’s issues. He sees stuff coming a mile before it happens. He can move the pieces around the board like Bobby Fischer. Enough of that. Suffice it to say that once I got over my initial shock, I was very impressed and I’ve stayed that way for 15 years.

And that’s just on a professional level. Peter’s one of the few guys that has found a balance between what’s required of him professionally and what he wants to do personally. His ethical beliefs come out every day at work in the way he deals with others and transacts business. You can see the love and respect he gets and returns to his family. He wears it on his sleeve. And he likes to fish. (I’m not sure exactly how that fits in, but it seems to be important).

Anyway, I don’t know if 60 is such a big milestone for Peter. We’ve made some changes in the business so he can spend time on other things he enjoys, but besides that he’s a pretty complete guy who doesn’t really seem to need a late mid-life crisis to get it all straightened out. Take some nice trips and enjoy your grandkids.

Rob Billings, Jr.

On behalf of all the Billings kids I like to express the biggest 60th B-day wishes to our "Uncle Pete" on his special day. For a guy that has treated all of us like a "second Dad" for all of these years, there's no one else that we think is nicer and more generous than your Dad. Wait, maybe your MOM! Peter has always expressed to me that if we ever needed help or advice, he wanted to be the one that we called first.

Seeing them in Cape May this past Aug. brought back the countless memories we all have of the Dilullo/Billings family vacations. We're so happy that all of the Dilullo's are doing well and it's great to see the next generation of grand kids growing!

Aunt Millie

Peter –

I love you.

Aunt Millie.

Bill Hard

Peter

It’s hard to summarize 30 years in one message- you do realize, of course, that we have known each other, and worked for the same company, nearly half our lives! Rather than try to recount those years, I want to share with you two impressions.

The first is your approach to life. Among all of my partners, friends and associates you stand out for one simple reason. You are the most open person I know, both in terms of listening to what others have to say and in sharing your thoughts and feelings. Whether we are talking about business, family, faith or life in general, you have always been upfront and honest, with no hidden agenda. That openness and willingness to hear me out and be a sounding board, without prejudging (although I know you have a strong opinion or two!), has given me a solid foundation of support to which I can always turn. Over the years I have kept the kind handwritten notes you send my way now and again. In my view you are a true leader and a true friend.

The other impression relates, of course, to golf. Pebble Beach, October, 2006, the third and final day of a very special golf outing, and my game, in a word, is terrible. Every one else had birdied at least one hole and I hadn’t come close. Coach DiLullo comes over to me (we must have been on the same team for that hole!) as I am addressing the ball, which of course is in the rough. You looked at me, asked what club I was holding (a 6 iron for the record), and told me to imagine my head in a box that it should not leave during my swing. Dutifully following your advice (I was desperate!) I kept my head “in the box”, put the ball 10 feet from the hole, and made the birdie putt. As we were walking off the green you put your arm around my shoulder, flashed your best smile, and said “That was the cheapest golf lesson you’ll ever receive!” And it was, as well as the most effective!

Thanks for being a true friend and partner over these past 30 years and welcome to the 60s- I know you will make the most of it.

Bill

Happy Birthday Peter DiLullo,

60! Holy Smokes!! When we think of Pete and honoring him for his 60th , here is what comes to our minds and hearts. A man of action, doing the job that needs to de done. When you think of reliable, responsible, and on time, you think of DiLullo. (although we recently heard he messed up a flight departure… watched stopped or some lame excuse) Anyway, back to the positives: A man who loves the Lord, Lisa, family, friends and of course golf and a little fishing in between. A man of routine! He likes to plan what to do and then do it ~ whether a project, a day in Cape May or a vacation.

A man who is generous! Proverbs 22:9 “A generous man will himself be blessed.” We’re thankful for Pete’s hospitality and generosity and the way he always makes others feel at home.

God has done immeasurably more than all that we have asked or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

Happy 60th and here’s to a “Three Pete” !!! We’re looking forward to a continued friendship that, because of God’s grace, will continue forever!

But for now, keep working on the short game.

Love,

Russ and Linda
